Bass Performance That Goes Beyond a Conventional Speaker

The BRV-S80C is built around an 8-inch woofer designed for increased excursion and output. Its unique lapel-shaped cone allows greater cone movement compared with a traditional speaker design, helping the woofer produce stronger low-frequency energy.

The polypropylene and mica cone construction adds rigidity to the woofer, helping provide a cleaner and more controlled response.

H.E.D.G.E. Surround Technology

Alpine's High Excursion Design Gathered Edge, or H.E.D.G.E. Surround, uses a symmetrical rubber surround designed to allow the woofer to operate more symmetrically and linearly.

This design increases usable excursion while helping extend low-frequency performance, giving the BRV-S80C the ability to deliver substantial bass from a door-mounted speaker system.

Detailed High-Frequency Performance

A dedicated 3/4-inch polyester cloth-dome tweeter handles high-frequency reproduction, bringing greater detail and clarity to vocals, instruments, and other high-frequency content.

The component configuration separates the woofer and tweeter so each driver can concentrate on its intended frequency range, helping create a more defined front soundstage.

OPTIM™ Sync Ready

The BRV-S80C is designed to work with Alpine's OPTIM™ Sync technology. When paired with a compatible Alpine OPTIM8® DSP/amplifier, the system can use Alpine's proprietary dynamic bass-boost algorithm and driver-specific pre-EQ processing.

This allows the system to extend bass performance while keeping the speaker operating within its safe performance limits. OPTIM™ Sync tuning can deliver substantially more low-frequency impact from the BRV-S80C than conventional speaker processing.

Built for Greater Excursion

The BRV-S80C's combination of its unique cone profile and H.E.D.G.E. Surround is designed to increase cone movement and output. Alpine specifies a 30% increase in SPL for greater loudness and a 25% increase in X-Max for increased cone movement.

The result is a speaker system designed to produce a more powerful and dynamic presentation without requiring a separate conventional subwoofer for every installation.

Premium Driver Construction

The 8-inch woofer uses a polypropylene-and-mica cone paired with a ferrite magnet and 35mm voice coil. The woofer's gun-metal chemical coating provides a distinctive finish while contributing to the speaker's premium appearance.

The 3/4-inch tweeter uses a polyester cloth dome, a neodymium magnet, and a 20mm voice coil for compact, detailed high-frequency reproduction.

Designed for Custom Audio Systems

With 50 watts RMS power handling and 150 watts peak power handling, the BRV-S80C is designed to integrate into upgraded vehicle audio systems and can be used with appropriate external amplification.

The 4-ohm impedance and 87dB sensitivity make the speakers suitable for a wide range of aftermarket system configurations. A woofer mounting depth of 2-15/16 inches provides installers with a clearly defined installation requirement.
