Subwoofer-Sized Bass From a 6.5-Inch Speaker
The BRV-S65C is designed to deliver the kind of low-frequency impact normally associated with larger drivers. Its specialized lapel-shaped woofer cone provides increased cone height and travel, allowing greater linear excursion than a traditional speaker design.
Alpine's H.E.D.G.E.™ surround further supports this high-excursion design, allowing the woofer to move farther while maintaining controlled operation. This combination produces stronger bass output and improved low-frequency extension without sacrificing the speaker's midrange performance.

Alpine's High Excursion Design Gathered Edge, or H.E.D.G.E.™, surround is engineered specifically for increased low-frequency performance. The rubber surround allows the 6.5-inch woofer to achieve greater excursion while helping maintain smooth and controlled movement.
The additional excursion translates into increased output and deeper bass response, giving the BRV-S65C a larger, more powerful sonic character than a conventional 6.5-inch component speaker.
True 2-Way Component Design
The BRV-S65C uses separate woofer and tweeter drivers to reproduce different portions of the frequency spectrum. The 6.5-inch woofer handles the weight and warmth of the music, while the dedicated 3/4-inch polyester cloth-dome tweeter delivers high-frequency detail.
Separating the drivers allows each to focus on its ideal operating range, helping create a wider and more precise soundstage with clear vocals, detailed instruments, and smooth high-frequency reproduction.
Designed for Active Tuning
The BRV-S65C is specifically optimized for active operation with Alpine's OPTIM8® DSP/Amplifier using OPTIM™ Sync technology. Passive crossover networks are not included by design.
In an active system, each driver can receive its own amplifier channel and dedicated crossover settings. This allows more precise control over crossover points, slopes, EQ, and time alignment while avoiding the power losses associated with conventional passive components.
OPTIM™ Sync Technology
Pair the BRV-S65C with a compatible Alpine OPTIM8® DSP/Amplifier to unlock its BassRev™ tuning capabilities. Alpine's proprietary OPTIM™ Sync technology applies driver-specific processing, including dynamic bass boost and pre-EQ, to extend low-frequency performance while maintaining controlled operation.
With BassRev™ tuning enabled, the BRV-S65C's specified frequency response extends down to 38Hz, providing significantly deeper bass than its compact 6.5-inch size would suggest.
Rigid, Refined Woofer Construction
The woofer features a polypropylene and mica cone designed to increase rigidity and provide a cleaner, more controlled response. The unique cone profile is engineered for increased excursion, while the durable gun-metal chemical coating provides a premium appearance.
A ferrite magnet motor provides stable performance and reliable power handling, while the steel frame provides a rigid foundation for the driver assembly.
Detailed High-Frequency Performance
The dedicated 3/4-inch polyester cloth-dome tweeter is designed to reproduce high-frequency information with clarity and detail. Its separate component placement gives installers greater flexibility when positioning the tweeter to optimize the vehicle's front soundstage.
The tweeter uses a neodymium magnet and 20mm voice coil in a compact design that complements the larger 6.5-inch woofer.
