Engineered to deliver subwoofer-sized bass from a 6.5-inch driver, the BRV-S65 combines a high-excursion woofer with an integrated 1-inch tweeter for powerful low-end performance, smooth midrange, and detailed highs.
Alpine's exclusive HEDGE™ Surround and unique lapel-shaped cone design allow the woofer to achieve greater excursion than conventional speaker designs. The result is stronger low-frequency output and deeper extension while maintaining controlled, accurate sound.
Subwoofer-Sized Bass From a 6.5-Inch Speaker
The BRV-S65 is designed to deliver the impact of a much larger speaker without requiring additional installation space. Its specialized lapel-shaped cone increases cone height and travel, allowing greater linear excursion and stronger low-frequency output.
Combined with Alpine's HEDGE™ Surround, the woofer can move farther while maintaining control. This increased excursion gives the BRV-S65 greater bass impact and deeper extension while keeping vocals and midrange reproduction clear.
HEDGE™ High-Excursion Surround
Alpine's High Excursion Design Gathered Edge, or HEDGE™, Surround is engineered specifically to improve woofer excursion and low-frequency performance.
The rubber surround works like a suspension system for the woofer, allowing increased cone movement while helping maintain linear and controlled operation. This translates into greater output and more powerful bass from the compact 6.5-inch driver.
Integrated Coaxial Tweeter
The BRV-S65 features a recessed 1-inch polyester cloth-dome tweeter integrated directly into the woofer. Unlike a conventional tweeter mounted on a center post, the inlaid design places the two drivers closer to the same acoustic center.
This helps create a more unified soundstage with smoother integration between the woofer and tweeter, cleaner imaging, and a wider listening sweet spot.
OPTIM™ Sync Ready
The BRV-S65 is designed to pair with Alpine's OPTIM8® DSP/Amplifier using OPTIM™ Sync technology. When properly configured, Alpine's proprietary processing applies dynamic bass boost and pre-EQ specifically tailored to the BassRev™ speakers.
This processing is designed to safely extend low-frequency performance while smoothing the overall tonal response, allowing the BRV-S65 to produce a larger and more dynamic sound than the speaker alone.
Fuller, More Dynamic Sound
The BRV-S65's specialized lapel-shaped cone provides additional cone travel while maintaining controlled movement. The extra excursion helps produce stronger low-end output without compromising the clarity of the midrange.
The result is a fuller presentation with more impact from kick drums, bass guitar, electronic bass, and other low-frequency content.
Rigid and Refined Construction
The woofer uses a lightweight polypropylene and mica cone designed for rigidity and reduced unwanted resonance. The durable gun-metal chemical coating provides a premium appearance while helping the speaker withstand everyday use.
A ferrite magnet motor provides reliable power handling, while the steel frame provides a solid foundation for the woofer assembly.
The integrated tweeter uses a polyester cloth dome with a neodymium magnet and 20mm voice coil for smooth, detailed high-frequency reproduction.
Designed for Easy Integration
With a 6.5-inch woofer format and 2-3/8-inch mounting depth, the BRV-S65 is designed to fit a wide range of factory and aftermarket speaker locations.
The speaker set is also supplied with multi-purpose adapter rings and mounting hardware to simplify installation in compatible applications. Factory grilles can be retained, as the speaker grilles themselves are not included.
