The integrated Faraday ring minimizes distortion, ensuring clean, deep bass, while the Kevlar-treated cone guarantees durability even at high volumes. The R2-W8D2 subwoofer stands out with its advanced polypropylene/ceramic composite dust cap, offering superior internal damping to smooth out bass response and maintain performance under high heat conditions. Alpine’s High Amplitude Multi-Roll (HAMR) Surround Technology allows for 12mm of total cone excursion, ensuring efficient airflow and exceptional bass accuracy while keeping the subwoofer cool during extended use. Designed for seamless application, the dual voice coil configuration and “EZ-Change” twist-lock grille system make installation straightforward and flexible. For enhanced protection, the subwoofer is compatible with the KTE-8G grille system (sold separately). New Motor Structure

The 2nd-Gen R-Series Subwoofers now feature larger, double-stacked magnets that contribute more motor force for deeper bass and tighter bass control from the subwoofer cone compared to the previous generation. An integrated Faraday ring minimizes distortion for cleaner bass output. A Kevlar-treated cone ensures durability in the subwoofer for reliable performance, even at high volumes.
